It looks like recaptcha is easily thwarted either by cheap labor or some other means, because I am still getting tons of spam signups.

I'm closing registrations again, if you would like to register, please email me at cory.mawhorter@ephective.com and use the subject line "Forum Registration". Give me your name and all the standard stuff in that email.

I will just have to do manual registrations until I have more time to spend on this problem.

Where to the fonts go?

Damn. Typo in the subject line.

I asked this question at Typophile.com. Perhaps some can help me. Maybe read the thread at Typophile so you can understand the context. I'm not actually trying to install it, I'm a type designer and I'm concerned about unprotected fonts on a server and where they reside.

I read the quick start guide, watched the video. I can't figure out where the font ends up. Where does the font actually go? It it obfuscated or is it a desktop installable font? Even if someone could set it up so it's in a specific protected folder it's the default that matters. Where exactly does the font end up when the average FLIR users set this up with the default "quickstart" settings?

Re: Where to the fonts go?

By default, the fonts exist in [the flir folder]/fonts.  You can configure this folder to exist anywhere -- including outside of the webroot (which makes it impossible to download).  Also, by default, FLIR comes with an index.html file in the fonts folder, which prevents the fonts from being listed.  This has the effect of limiting bad people from downloading only the fonts that they know exist.  Putting the files outside of webroot would be the best way, but most users don't understand how to do this.

Check out Facelift v2.0 beta 3.  The best version yet.
